Houston Healthcare Announces Expansion and Renovation of Same Day Services at Warner Robins Campus

Warner Robins, GA – November 24, 2023 – Houston Healthcare is excited to announce an expansion and renovation project at our Warner Robins campus located at 1601 Watson Boulevard. Houston Healthcare Same Day Services, our outpatient services area, will undergo construction beginning Tuesday, December 5, 2023 to make way for a new, industry-leading MRI machine.

Houston Healthcare–Warner Robins will receive the Siemens MAGNETOM Altea 1.5T MRI system to replace the current fixed MRI. According to Phyllis Briaud, MBA, CRA, RT(R)(T)(CT)(QM), Director of Imaging Services, Houston Healthcare, the new MRI system will provide numerous benefits for patients and physicians alike. “Patient benefits include a quieter MRI experience, the option for video or music to aid in relaxation, a wider bore for a more open feel, and shorter, more efficient scan times,” says Briaud. “Physicians will appreciate the exceptional image quality and fast, precise, consistent results.”

In order to accommodate the new MRI machine, 4,863 square feet of the existing Same Day Services area will be renovated and an extra 1,690 square feet will be added to the existing structure. The new MRI system will be housed in the renovated portion, which will include ambient lighting for patient comfort as well as required MRI Safety Zones ensuring a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff. The additional structure will include expanded waiting and registration space, and the building’s exterior will include a new drop off area and covered walkway.

Construction on the Same Day Services area will commence December 5, 2023, with completion expected in May of 2024. The Same Day Services entrance, located at the rear of Houston Healthcare-Warner Robins, adjacent to the Emergency Department, will be closed beginning Friday, December 1 to prepare for construction and will remain closed throughout the duration of construction. Patients who utilize the Same Day Services entrance for outpatient services should enter the hospital through the Northwest Tower (at the front of the hospital) and register at the Admissions desk located between the Northwest and Main Towers.
