Established Family Medicine Practice Relocates to Bonaire

Houston Healthcare is pleased to announce the relocation of a family medicine practice to better serve Bonaire and surrounding communities. Houston Family Care at Houston Lake in Kathleen, along with board-certified family medicine physician Peter Izzo, MD, and certified nurse practitioner Christy Gonzalez, NP-C, is relocating to 127 Old Highway 96 in Bonaire effective Wednesday, November 1, 2023. The practice will be housed inside the newly-constructed Houston Healthcare Medical Office Building – Bonaire across from Bonaire Elementary School and will change its name to Houston Family Care at Bonaire.

“The team and I are excited to provide the same exceptional care our patients have come to know and trust in this conveniently located, state-of-the-art facility,” says Peter Izzo, MD. “The future addition of onsite imaging and laboratory services will be especially convenient for our patients.”

Dr. Izzo has over ten years of family medicine experience. He joined Houston Healthcare in 2021 as part of the growing urgent care team and is now the anchor physician for Houston Family Care at Bonaire. Gonzalez has been employed with Houston Healthcare for 14 years, with five of those serving in the nurse practitioner role. During much of her time at Houston Healthcare, she specialized in diabetes care and clinical endocrinology.

As family medicine practitioners, Izzo and Gonzalez provide comprehensive primary health care for patients of all ages – from children to seniors. Dr. Izzo’s special areas of interest include disease prevention, ADD/ADHD, anxiety and depression, weight loss, trigger point injections and cryotherapy. Gonzalez, with years of experience in diabetes care and clinical endocrinology, enjoys treating patients for diabetes, thyroid, and endocrine health.
