STAR Kids is a program of the Georgia Emergency Medical Services for Children and is special and/or technology-assisted resource for children with special health care needs. The program encourages parents and caregivers with special needs children to develop a written emergency care plan. It is vital that everyone involved, including parents, teachers, bystanders, EMS personnel, nurses, physicians, and specialists, are aware of a child’s unique needs both in preparing for and surviving a medical emergency.
