Delivery and Your Hospital Stay

We prioritize maternity care that puts your family at the center and aligns with your individual birth preferences. Here’s what you can expect during your stay:

Rooming-In: From helping you understand your baby’s sleep patterns and feeding cues, to skin-to-skin bonding and breastfeeding support, there are numerous benefits to having your baby stay in the room with you! Your support person or significant other is also welcome.

Transitional Nursery: If you need some rest, we offer an alternative with our Transitional Care Nursery, where your baby is monitored by dedicated staff. You can request your baby back when it’s time to breastfeed or if you wish to hold them.

Breastfeeding Assistance: Our lactation specialists are available Monday to Friday from 7 AM to 11 PM, Saturday from 7 AM to 3 PM, and have varying hours on Sunday. They can also assist you post-discharge by appointment—just call 478-352-5551.

Pain Management Options: Our team includes certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs) who can provide epidurals when needed. We also offer other various methods to help manage discomfort and support labor progression.

C-Section Expertise: We have two operating suites and skilled surgeons ready to assist with both planned and emergency Cesarean sections. If desired, you can watch your baby’s birth through a clear surgical curtain during a “gentle C-section.”

Private, Spacious Birthing Suites

At our Women’s Center, you will enjoy private, spacious birthing suites designed for labor, delivery, and recovery, allowing you to stay in one room throughout your experience before transferring to our specialized Mother/Baby Unit. Each suite is equipped with homelike amenities, including a bathroom, shower, TV, phone, rocking chair, bed for the mother, and a sleeper for your support person.
